Description

Designed in conjunction with Rupert Neve Designs, the RN17 Stereo Pair features the RN17's signature large-scale hand wound transformer, adding ultra-high performance transparency and sensitivity to an already-excellent pair of hand made sE Electronics capsules.

The RN17 Stereo Pair is a matched pair of pencil mics that will make your instrument and room recordings come to life, taking on percussive instruments like drums with ease thanks to their massive sound pressure level threshold of 150dB before succumbing to any distortion.

As the RN17 pair is a true representation of hand-made sE Rupert Neve microphones of the highest quality, they are beautifully presented in a professional flight case with protective foam padding. Included in the case are two specially-designed shock mounts, a stereo mounting bar, capsule containers for the optional extra polar-pattern capsules and a warranty card and instructions. The two RN17 pencil mics are encased inside a wooden display case with satin dust covers protecting the microphones from dampness and dust.

RN17 Condenser Microphone

The sE Rupert Neve RN17 small diaphragm condenser mic was designed and built by sE Electronics and Mr. Rupert Neve himself.

sE Electronics and Rupert Neve Designs announced the first sE Rupert Neve microphone in 2008. In 2011, sE and Rupert Neve Designs announced their second collaboration, the sE Rupert Neve RN17. The sE RN17 is the world's first pencil microphone with a large scale, hand wound, ultra high performance transformer.

The definition and detail from the capsule is incredible, made more so by the headroom afforded by the Rupert Neve transformer. Combined with a newly developed 17mm capsule from sE, the world's smallest production gold sputtered Mylar capsule, the result is truly magnificent. The combined effect is one of exceptional clarity, with a wonderfully silky finish.
